Ramiro Chaves (Argentina, 1979). Based in México. His practice subverts disciplinary boundaries by creating images and objects through the use of photography, drawing, painting, sculpture and visual poetry. His projects take place at the medium between studio work, educational practice and diverse forms of documentation. This process is the starting point to set forth a tentative in which the accumulation and appropriation of information and objects, product of a personal and collective archeology, take on meaning as they unfold in a parallel way and are resignified within new contexts. The result is a multilayered imaginary that reveals questions about normalcy and it is made from various sources such as autobiographical experiences, relational narratives, words, diagrams, bodies, animals and landscapes.
